Warren Sulatycky Director.jpg

Warren Sulatycky has been a professional actor since 1976 when he joined both Canadian Actors Equity and ACTRA as a young working theatre, film and television performer. He has acted on many Canadian stages and received stellar reviews for his work in New York and Los Angeles. Having also appeared in numerous films and television series, Warren is equally at home on the stage and in front of the camera. He brings a deep raw sensitivity to his work, rooted in emotional, intellectual and psychological honesty. In addition to his work as a playwright and theatre creator, Warren specializes in the collective creation process both in theatre and his film projects based on his collaborations with theatre pioneer Paul Thompson and past work at Robert Lepage's Theatre Ex Machina.

In Los Angeles, Warren created and developed characters for the collective creation "Road" at the Lillian Theatre.

In Canada, Warren has appeared at many Toronto/Ontario theatres including a two-season company member and playwright-in-residency at the Blyth Theatre Festival, where he was actor/co-creator in Paul Thompson’s “Death of a Hired Man”. Across Canada, Warren was a multi-year Edmonton-based company member of Stewart Lemoine’s Teatro La Quindicina where he originated roles in premiere productions of “My Miami Melody”, “Cocktails at Pam’s”, “Damp Fury”, and “The Vile Governess and Other Psychodramas”. He was a two-year original cast member of the long-running live improv soap opera “East of Edson” (Phoenix Theatre), "Improv TheatreSports" (Theatre Network), and the original workshop of Brad Fraser's "Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love" (Workshop West).  Other regional theatre credits include “Dogg’s Hamlet” (Theatre Calgary), “Waiting for Godot” (Studio Theatre, Edmonton), "Danny, King of the Basement" (Persephone Theatre, Saskatoon).

Of his New York acting work, reviewers have praised his performances:

"Sulatycky is a revelation, the sort of oddly handsome actor who seems to be a cross between many less-deservedly famous movie stars, and who manages to imbue his performance with a realness and depth that are truly captivating."  - NYTheatre.com

"Hysterically Funny" - New York Times

"Excellent, creating people we can love, cheer and fear for". - BroadwayWorld.com
